The list of restaurant recommendations from cab drivers has been updated! Check out the “Cabbie Recommendations” button at the top of the page. I also recently purchased ChicagoCabFare.com and am deciding whether to make it a part of this site, or a completely separate site. Stay tuned for more details.

Chicago Cab Fare – A New Gastronomic Adventure

Because I miss writing about food, and because I’m too poor to review Chicago’s fine dining scene on any regular basis, I’ve come up with a new restaurant-related project I’ll here on the blog. I think it’s a pretty great idea, if I do say so myself. It involves taxis, hole in the wall restaurants where very little English is spoken, interesting conversations with strangers, and hopefully a greater appreciation for global cuisine. Read on for the full details of my master plan.

Take It From A Millennial: Stop Taking It Easy On the Millenials!

On my way home from work the other day, I was listening to the most recent episode of everybody’s favorite public radio show, This American Life (#402 – Save the Day), and a story about an long-running annual event at a small liberal arts school, stuck with me. Each year, the school hosts what it [...]

Back in Action

Sorry I’ve been M.I.A. recently, I just returned from a week long spring break road trip. However, I should have some more free time in the coming weeks, so I’ll get back in the swing of things very shortly. I’m anxious to hear how the Food + Wine Fest went this weekend, so if you [...]

Happy Belated Birthday to the Blog!

All, I just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their continued readership. It’s been just over a year since I started this site, and it has been more successful than I ever could have hoped. What I might be most proud of is the fact that I’ve been able to stick with [...]

Update on my Personal Branding Blog guest post

Just wanted to share some of the love that I’ve been receiving for my guest post on the Personal Branding Blog. I was really happy to see all of these links, but here is one excerpt from Chandlee Bryan on her blog, The Emerging Professional: “David’s a rock star and his approach to his career [...]

Check out my “7 Personal Branding Tips for College Graduates” on the Personal Branding Blog

Call it shameless self-promotion, but I’m pretty proud of the guest post I wrote for personal branding expert Dan Schawbel’s Personal Branding Blog. The post is titled “7 Personal Branding Tips for College Graduates” and is essentially my advice for other college students on how to begin differentiating themselves from the pack in order to [...]

A Brief Break From Food and Film

I know this is a food and film blog. I know you don’t come here for politics. That being said, I’m still going to post this video because I care too strongly about this year’s election to not promote the only candidate who I feel has the judgement and integrity to lead our country in [...]

DH Is Good is now DavidGHeiser.com

A little bit of site news for those of you who haven’t been by the blog in the past few days. As I move toward graduation and the real world of jobs featuring paychecks with (hopefully) four columns left of the decimal point, I figured I needed to start making things a little bit more [...]

DH Is Good In Print Too…

So, I told you all that my reviews were going to be in print this year. Well, today is the first day that you can actually go out and pick a copy up. An abbreviated version of my McCrady’s review is currently occupying the entire back page (well except for a giant Verizon ad) of [...]
