Stephanie Barna over at the City Paper’s Eat blog posted a great list of specials currently being offered by restaurants around the city. Sure the economy is bad, but if you’re the type to save up for a nice meal or two every month then Barna’s list will offer you some really great deals.
Here are my favorites from the list:
- three courses for $39 per person
- must be seated before 6pm, Sunday - Thursday.
- turning back menu prices to 2004.
- Most TAPAS items $5 each
- most wines “by the glass” $5 each.
- “Nightly Wine Flights” from 5-7 p.m. For $5 you can taste four 2-ounce pours of selected wines
- $35 prix fixe three course menu
- Sundays through Thursdays.
- $25 prix fixe menu featuring such favorites as Steak Frites, Mussels, Tomato Bisque, and Salade Verte.
- Includes glass of wine
- $10/person for steak & shrimp or steak & chicken
- $1 sushi
- Mondays through Thursdays, 5-6 p.m.
- Fridays through Sundays, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
- half-price burgers on Sundays
Kim’s doesn’t really fit in with the rest of the places on this list, but damn, that’s a good deal. One dinner at Kim’s easily provides three meals. The McCrady’s and Charleston Grill deals are great just because that is such a huge cut from their normal prices. If you have an opportunity to enjoy one of these deals, leave a comment and let us know how it was!

Haven’t had the burger @ Rue but a friend just loves them. The mussels are unbelievable and only $10.
Also, Mercato on Market has a great 1/2 price wine list right now.

Thanks for the comment.
I’m totally sad that I missed the half price burger promotion at Rue (just ran through January). I’ll have to suck it up and drop the money for one at full price with their apparently unbelievable fries.
I think La Fourchette and it’s $25 three-course menu may be next on my list though. That’s a crazily good deal.
